Women's Circles
A Sacred Space to Celebrate the Divine Feminine

What is a Women's Circle

Women’s circles are an ancient practice, where women gather and sit in circle like our ancestral mothers, grandmothers and great-grandmothers have done for thousands of years.

We have gathered in sacred spaces such as red tents and moon lodges to connect to self, to others, and to the wisdom of the cycles and of the divine feminine especially during menstruation and under the full moon, dark/ new moon energy.

Why sit in a Women's Circle

When we sit in a women’s circle, we connect in sisterhood. We honour our red thread (mother line) through ritual and ceremony. We value their strength and courage and bring our herstory to our collective consciousness. We remember and re-member (put back together) by weaving the wisdom of the shamanic medicine wheel, the ancient goddess archetypes, our red thread and our own life journeys embodying the divine feminine with bravery, resilience, and compassion.

A women’s circle is a safe and supportive space to be heard and to be seen in our true, authentic self without judgment. It is a place of self-care and self-love, where we nurture and nourish ourselves and weave self-reflection, laughter, stillness, connection, perspective, and magic.

My invitation

Come and sit in circle as we explore and deepen our connection to self, others, and Mother Earth together. In our monthly gathering, we gently lean towards the Medicine wheel and we learn and deepen our cyclical inner wisdom. We share in sisterhood, learning to create sacred space to bring ceremony to our life. Connection and ceremony are powerful tools for healing, celebration, and magic.

I will guide you in circle through shamanic drum journeys, mandala meditations, yoga nidra, Breathwork, Moon prayers, toning and singing, earth-based rituals and so much more.

We meet every second Thursday of the month at the Inner Space in Katoomba. We will witness each other, hold each other and share with open hearts and curiosity.

I am also available to facilitate women's circles online or in person for established groups.

I offer one-day workshops for women who are interested in running women's circles in their communities.

I can support you and your group of friends. I facilitate tailored day workshops in your community where I can share the ancient wisdom and principles so that you can create a safe and sacred container for each other. I will guide you into gaining or deepening your connection to the Medicine Wheel, the goddess archetypes, the lunar and seasonal cycles, the menstrual cycle and much more.

“Akua manages to bring a touch of magic to everything she does and I would highly recommend her for holding a circle.”
Heidi, Sydney

I, Akua Gutierrez acknowledge with deep gratitude the traditional custodians of country throughout Australia and the Gundungurra and Dharug Peoples on whose land I am grateful to call home. I pay my deepest respects to the Indigenous Women who birthed and sat together in circle on this land and to the Elders past and present. I acknowledge that I live on stolen land and that sovereignty was never ceded. Always was, always will be Aboriginal land.
